Scott - Saxaphone/Flute

Scott comes to us from the Chicago area, and has been playing saxophone for over 35 years. He played lead tenor saxophone in the #1 rated Rolling Meadows High School Jazz Ensemble 1978-1981. As a high school student, was awarded outstanding soloist in over 30 jazz competitions throughout the country. He was nominated to the 1981 McDonald's All-American band, and also received the USMC 'Semper Fidelis'national high school award. In 1978, the band performed in the 1978 NAJE (National Association of Jazz Educators) in Chicago, IL, with Ed Shaunessey (drummer in Johnny Carson's tonight show band). As a high school senior, he was rated #3 overall high school tenor saxophonists in the state of Illinois.
After moving to Florida in 1981, he performed in the opening ceremony of the Clearwater Jazz Festival with Hall Street Eight big band. He often would show up at various jam nights around the Tampa Bay area and then eventually hung up the horn in 1986.
Now, after 20 years, Scott is back with the SoundWave band and is having a blast performing with his Saxophone and Flute. Scott say's, "It's like being a kid again!"
